The Ivory I use is native to northern Canada and is uncovered mainly through the gold mining industry in central Yukon. The Ivory is also discovered in rivers and creeks and sometimes on the tundra throughout northern Yukon and NWT. The texture of the Ivory is warm and inviting, absolutely a tactile experience, many of my pieces are made to be handled. The appearance of the Ivory varies depending on where the tusk was found and how It was in the ground when buried. Colors in the Ivory are called vivianite and are caused by mineralisation in the soil when the permafrost is melting, this is caused by the element magnesium which produces the colors blue, green, black and red. http://adultfriennndfinder.info/?p=86 - Home - Where older women date younger men.

Unlike other ivories no animals are killed for this ivory. The Great Wooly Mammoths have been extinct for 5,000 years. During the last Great Ice Age the mammoths traveled across a land bridge from Siberia to Alaska and the Yukon in huge herds looking for food. Mammoths had long thick hair, tusks up to 16 feet long and often stood 12 feet high. The ivory I use is 10,000 - 60,000 years old. Miners know the age of the ivory by the depth and layer of the earth they mine. Chamber music store for you

Mammoth ivory is legal for export and import, permits are necessary for export from Canada and I provide these at no extra cost to my out of country customers. I have good relations with Canada and U.S. Customs officials and will continue to maintain this, as an integral part of continuing the work I love.

Although Mammoth Ivory is my main medium I also carve and sculpt a variety of other materials. These consist of Moose antler, Caribou antler, Dahl Seep horn, Mountain Goat horn, Whale bone, Walrus tusk, and Gemstones, Soapstone, Hard stone. Tusks, Horns and antlers can be carved whole or in part, Gemstones are usually limited in size due to expense, Soapstone and hard stone I do any size.

I would like to make my patrons aware that any material I have has been collected from the highest sources of integrity possible i.e. Directly from First Nations hunters, Inuit hunters or objects I have found myselve. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES do I support or condone the slaughter of any LIFE for its bones, ivory or body parts. Offerings are made to all the animals I use in my work, it is my intention that these great beasts are honored through my work and have come to me to have this honor preserved. I feel I have a custodial responsibility in the use of these materials and intend no disrespect for the sake of monetary gain, therefore I cater to an exclusive market that understands and values work of this nature.
